11.2 Documentation

It is important for the analyst in the forensic chemistry laboratory to document the analysis of evidence. The standard used for giving conclusions in court is ``a reasonable scientific standard.'' In practice, this means that given your data, another scientist would draw the same conclusion. Therefore, ``your data'' must include sufficient detail regarding what tests were performed, what testing parameters were used, observations made and what results were obtained.
