6.3.4 Stability Order of Cations and Radicals

In Section 6.2.3, it was mentioned that the thermodynamic 'stability' of products must be considered when attempting to predict product distributions of competing reactions. One should remember that the simple stability order for both organic cations and radicals is given by

CH$_{\textrm{3}}$ < 1$^{\textrm{0}}$ < 2$^{\textrm{0}}$ < 3$^{\textrm{0}}$
